    WHAT IS A WATER-BASED LUBRICANT?

The body sometimes needs a helping hand during an intimate moment, and for this lubricant, or lube in English, is essential for sexual pleasure and comfort. But why is water-based so popular?

    WHY USE A WATER-BASED LUBRICANT?

The moisturizing power of aqueous gels is very important, even if it is absorbed more quickly by the mucous membranes, requiring them to be applied more often during intense intercourse. On the other hand, it is the most respectful of the vaginal flora and the skin because it does not contain allergens, especially when it is of good quality.

    GOOD HYDRATION OF THE MUCOSA

Pleasure is sacred. So to avoid any inconvenience, you must not forget to lubricate the sexes during each intimate session. This is all the more true in cases of vaginal dryness: without water-based lubricant, movements further irritate the walls and cause pain. It is therefore necessary to ensure hydration before any penetration movement to maintain the comfort of both partners.

    FOR AFTER CARE CARE

Water-based lubricant, on the other hand, is not compatible with post-coital care because it does not slide, regardless of the movement applied during the massage. It is better to favor massage oils designed for this strict use.

IS A WATER-BASED LUBRICANT NECESSARILY NATURAL?

Depending on the agents added in the composition, such as alcohol, the lubricant may not be entirely natural.

ALLERGENS AND RISKS OF OTHER FORMULAS

You should be wary of lubes that are not "100% natural" because these products, used for private parts, can contain allergens and pathogens. To remedy this, choose an aloe vera-based gel as a lubricant rather than an oil, even if it itself is aloe vera-based.

USE OF SALIVA INSTEAD OF LUBRICANT

Saliva has no lubricating or moisturizing power, it only serves to moisten. In addition, it promotes the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and risks drying out of the mucous membranes, which can cause problems for people suffering from vaginal dryness. Lubrication is therefore essential, even for masturbation with sex toys for women or men.

CAN YOU USE WATER-BASED LUBRICANT WITH SEXTOYS? CONDOMS?

If based water contains a formula that is good for mucous membranes and all intimate relationships, is it also compatible with sex toys and condoms? The answer is yes.

    USING WATER BASED LUBRICANT

Since the aqueous gel is suitable for vaginal, anal and oral penetration, it is also compatible with couples and solo sex toys. However, care must be taken to ensure that the concentrations of glycerinated alcohols are low: the ideal is still to turn to “all natural” quality products.

SHOULD YOU LUBRICATE AN ALREADY LUBRICATED CONDOM?

Although condoms are already coated with lubricant, this lube is not enough for anal or vaginal sex. It is often because of the lack of lubrication that the condom fails. During intimate intercourse, you should definitely not deprive yourself of lubricating again: it's good for the contraceptive and the skin, whether it's the vagina or the anus. Be careful not to use any oil-based lubricants, however, as they make the latex porous.
