We do not sell any substances that are prohibited by law. Poppers and Kamagra (trade name of Viagra in Asia) are pharmaceutical products and therefore comparable to medicines.
We also share with you the clear and documented response from a responsible person in the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP):
" Concerning
your question about poppers , nitrite-based products
alkyl, ... these substances have a
pharmacological action and medical applications, nitrites have
also other uses and technical applications. These products are often
marketed as leather cleaners and diverted for use
recreational and not therapeutic.
THE
Alkyl nitrites are nevertheless toxic substances included in the list
IV of the Regent's decree of February 6, 1946 regulating the
conservation and flow of poisonous and toxic substances.
Article 3 of
this decree defines the delivery rules for these toxic substances and
alkyl nitrites are mentioned in the last paragraph: “Retail sale and
delivery of alkyl nitrites, as such or in a mixture, is reserved for
community pharmacist. ".
... Legislation relating to the sale and use of alkyl nitrites varies greatly from one country to another. In France, after several periods of ban, poppers have been on sale over the counter since June 2013. In a report dated May 25, 2020 and following a large national study on the use of poppers, the French national security agency Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) highlights an increase in the use of poppers and reports of exposure, including serious cases of methemoglobinemia (oxidation of hemoglobin which makes it unsuitable for transporting oxygen) . The ANSM also reports that the mode of consumption has evolved, with an increase in ingestions. In follow-up
From these findings, the ANSM concludes that it is necessary to take measures concerning poppers “in terms of access deemed too easy for consumers, and in terms of communication on the risks linked to its
consumption ". This report is attached as an annex to this email (pages 6 and 7 of the document).
In the United States, the
Trade in alkyl nitrites is not prohibited although they cannot be sold for human consumption without a medical prescription. As with us, poppers are therefore generally marketed as leather cleaners, air fresheners or nail polish removers. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the American federal agency for food and drug products, published a warning on its website dated June 24, 2021. This text sets out in particular:
“The FDA observed
an increase in reports of deaths and hospitalizations with problems
such as severe headache, dizziness, increased
body temperature, difficulty breathing, extreme drops in blood pressure,
blood pressure, problems with oxygen in the blood (methemoglobinemia)
and brain death after ingestion or inhalation of poppers. ”
